Charlotte Bobcats Defeat the Sixers behind Augustin and Henderson…. former coach is displeased

The Charlotte Bobcats defeated the Philadelphia 76ers last night behind an amazing offensive outburst by DJ Augustin in the first half and some clutch  jump shooting late in the 4th quarter by Gerald Henderson. My question is this: If Larry Brown watched this game last night, What must he have thought? Here is one guy that he tormented constantly when he was coach, looking unstoppable in the first half, and here is another guy that could barely get on the court while he was head coach, hitting clutch jumpers late in crunch time to seal the deal for the Cats.

Well lucky readers, We here at BobcatsPlanet have managed to procure video of what LB did to his television set after watching the events that took place in last night’s game:

Judging from that video, it was time for Brown to upgrade anyway.

Yes, the title is correct. Yes I did it on purpose. Yes I know Brewer plays for the Bulls, I just answered all your questions about the title didn’t I. Aren’t I smart.

So why not write about the Bulls game by thanking the most wonderful person alive. Thank you Ronnie Brewer. Thank you for killing Crash’s ankle, and in the process pissing him off to epic proportions. Thank you for that, and because of that Crash decided to dunk a putback, and draw an AND-1 play, off your hand in traffic. And simply dominate the Bulls team single-handedly. Thank you for chucking away 2 key points and passing it to Deng who missed the three. Uncertain three or certain 2. Uncertain three certainly worked in our favor, so thank you Brewer. You are the man of the match in my eyes, for simply saving us in the 4th quarter.

It was an intense 4th quarter. D. Rose was able to slice through DJ’s, and promptly the Bobcats defense. But then it’s hard for anyone at all to stop him. However right on the wire, Silas put his faith in Gerald Henderson, which worked wonders. Henderson was able to stay right up close with rose, pushing him away towards the three point line. There, he drew him into a very tough fade away and Rose’s shooting isn’t his forte. He missed the shot by a fair margin, a testament to Rose’s shooting prowess and Henderson’s defense. Bobcats win and fist pumps, brofists and happiness all round. Bulls must be disappointed, losing to us again but hey that’s life. A couple of shocking calls during the end of the game, but we pulled it out.

Charlotte Bobcats lose to Philadelphia 76ers in OT

Cold, Cold Shooting

In honor of Boris Diaw’s triple-double last night, I’ll type my next few sentences about Boris’ performance in French. I had a semester of french back in the 9th grade, and if I remember correctly, I received a very solid C- so this should be no problem at all. Here goes…

Aucun Homo.

That was flawless I’m sure.

On to the game. Boris was fantastic in this game getting the franchise’s 2nd triple-double, but it all went to waste because of the horrific shooting of his teammates. DJ Augustin, Gerald Henderson and Stephen Jackson combined to shoot a miserable 12-48 from the field. Jax was 7-24 along with an unbelievable 1-11 from three point range. Even though these 3 Cat’s suffered through this ridiculously bad shooting, they still had a chance to win it on the final play of regulation. Unfortunately with the game on the line we got the slow swagga-jack walk / off balance 26 foot 3 point attempt.

Bobcats fall to New Orleans

Posted by on Jan 16, 2011 in Emeka Okafor, New Orleans Hornets, Tyrus Thomas | 1 comment

New Orleans is another one of those good teams, coming into last night’s game 24-16, that the Bobcats have to beat.  Well, they had a chance but squandered it by regressing.  Too often last night the ‘Cats fell into old habits of complaining, protesting calls, slowing down the offense and allowing easy baskets off of turnovers.  Biggest single example?  Tyrus Thomas giving the ol’ crook of the arm to former Bobcat Emeka Okafor.  The play resulted in T-Time’s ejection, 2 shots for Okafor (which he made…go figure) and the ball for the Hornets.  81-77 when the rebound occured and 85-77 at the end of that exchange.  Two and a half minutes to go in the game and one act of stupidity results in an additional 4 points that the offending party wouldn’t be around to help get back.

In the game chat here at BobcatsPlanet.com, spectre had a great line:  ”I thought (flagrant) 2s were supposed to be intentional…not dumb.”  Tyrus Thomas will do a few things in the course of the game that make you go “Ack, what an idiot.”  He’s high-energy and highly-athletic and sometimes his decisions make you think he might be high.  He has helped immensely in the 4th quarter in several games, the block on one end, dunk on the other to get the crowd back into it, he does that kind of thing all the time but he absolutely killed any momentum and possibly the chances the Bobcats had of winning that game last night.

The Bobcats keep it close, but lose to the Celtics

If you believe in “moral victories” then by all means this could be considered one.

The Bobcats have a long history of pain and suffering against these Boston Celtics. Our hardships against this team have been all over the map, we’ve experienced the torment that is s a Ray Allen last second shot that hits you like a dagger to the aorta  and we’ve had to endure far too many of your standard fare 25 to 30 point beat downs  from these jokers in green. With that being said, when rumors hit early on Friday that discussions have been taking place that would ship Bobcats Co-Captain and the only All-Star in team history away to the Cavs for their trade exception, most of us figured that the because of the distraction we would get a poor effort tonight.

Newsbreak:  For the sake of accuracy, It wasn’t enough that we would be trading away Gerald Wallace for what amounts to an IOU, in order to make the deal suitable  to the Cavs we would need to do the honors of throwing in an additional lottery protected 1st round pick. If those are truly the parameters of the deal and it goes down the way that its being rumored then the reaction of the Bobcats fanbase will probably look a little like this:
