The game started out well when DJ drew a foul on Dwight Howard in the opening seconds of the 1st half. However, the Bobcats stopped attacking the rim and couldn’t get DH to commit his second foul. This led to a rough 1st half. A barrage of three pointers by Arenas and Ryan Anderson and poor bench play quickly resulted in a 15 point second quarter deficit. Yet, the Cats hung around and trimmed the Magic’s lead to 8 at the half (59-51) thanks to Jack’s 20 1st half points. The bench offered nothing but fouls. The newest Bobcats, Przybilla, Cunningham, and White combined for 7 fouls and Najera and Carroll failed to score.
No Wallace, no problem; ‘Cats crown Kings 110-98
After the trades of co-captain Gerald Wallace and Nazr Mohammed yesterday, and the requisite waiving of Sherron Collins, Dominic McGuire and Derrick Brown, the Charlotte Bobcats entered tonight’s game against the Sacramento Kings with eight players in uniform. Stephen Jackson, DJ Augustin and Gerald Henderson made sure that wasn’t a problem.
Bobcats Trade Gerald Wallce – Why this deal was necessary
I know a lot of Bobcat fans are very upset about Gerald Wallace aka “Crash” being traded. That is totally understandable. He has been with us from the start and has been our best player hands down! There is no question, Crash will be missed. I just want to make sure before fans start burning their MJ Jerseys, they understand some of the possible reasons this trade might have been a necessary move.

Post All-Star break/ Wallace & Nazr trade
First off Gerald “Crash” Wallace, You will be missed. Any true Bobcats fan has appreciated your effort which has continued from day one after the expansion draft. So my inaugural blog pooping goes to the Bobcats front office. But this poop I might just seal in a bag and wait on throwing. No TheGayKid but I love Gerald Wallace. He has been my favorite Bobcat since day one. He’s the working mans player. Blue collar basketball skills. Basically this teams skinny Oakley. But getting two 1st rounders from a team thats going through it’s own type of rebuild without Brandon Roy in their future. Those picks depending how structured, could end up pretty high. I know for one I will be rooting against Portland like they are Duke for the next couple years.
And I F*CKING HATE DUKE!
Done Deal: Gerald Wallace traded to Portland Trailblazers
Via HoopsWorld:
Multiple sources have reported the Portland Trail Blazers have acquired former All-Star small forward from the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for center Joel Przybilla, forward Dante Cunningham, and two first-round picks.
The details of the first-round picks aren’t clear year, but Portland owns two in 2011 – their own, and New Orleans’ from the Jerryd Bayless trade earlier in the season.
The move for Charlotte was all about cutting off the $17 million Wallace is owed in each of the next two seasons. Przybilla’s contract expires this season and is $7.4 million.
