Bobcats Shock Knicks, Maggette Goes Down

Posted by on Jan 5, 2012 in Corey Maggette, New York Knicks | 2 comments

What up people, Toocool here with a blog in 2012. Won’t be blogging too much due to my promotion to Mod, where I do my daily duties as a friendly neighbourhood mod. But it’s refreshing after the lockout to wake up at 8:30 am today to watch the Bobcats, more refreshing to see them win. Yes, you might say ‘But we be in tank mode!’ Doesn’t mean we can’t beat a few teams so we don’t go all emo and cut ourselves.

Regardless of whether we be tanking or not, Knicks versus Bobcats was us on the big stage in Madison Square Garden. Many angry Knicks fans were there, Commissioner D. Stern and ex-Bobcat, the man with hands of stone, the rock in the middle, the amazing defensive presence Tyson Chandler. Oh wait…not even Tyson Chandler can help Anthony or Stoudemire’s crapass defense.

But that’s the reason why we won. The Bobcats shot the ball well, and we were allowed to really take whatever we want, and watch the Knicks flounder on defense. We saw guys like Diaw and Hendo hit consistently, with Diaw actually taking shots. Melo and Stoudamire got their usual high points, but they really gave it right back on defense. And well, we lead them the entire way since the first quarter.

Bobcats Bench tells Celtics to sit on that pine, in other news KG is a p#$%&

Amazed aren’t you. I am also. Using bench players (except for Wallace) to beat Celtics? Who would have thought that, even with four all-stars and one former all-star on their team. Coming off successive losses to Heat and Mavs, the Bobcats finished triumphantly in a victory against one of the elite.
However it was also toughness that kept the Bobcats in the game. Kwame Brown was extremely aggressive tonight, trying to muscle his way into the paint, and for the most part he did that extremely well. Unfortunately the shots didn’t fall, however until a pivotal moment in the 2nd quarter at 3:25. Kwame and Perkins went face to face, Kwame clearly showing he wasn’t afraid and was not going to back down. Great stuff Kwame. Also enter Najera. Takes an elbow from the dirty KG, but compares him to his grandmother. Later on ices the game with a devastating 3. Lovely stuff from a guy I did not expect to impact at all.
However the biggest story of the night was the bench dominating the Celtics. Shaun Livingston sliced and diced the Celtics with his mid-range jumper, going 7-10 and scoring 18 points. Great from a guy who a lot of people didn’t expect to even be playing basketball, let alone scoring like that. He’s lost a lot of his explosiveness, but Livingston’s sweet mid-range jumper is always helpful.

Phoenix Suns get Iced by Bobcats

Posted by on Jan 27, 2011 in DJ Augustin, Gerald Henderson, Kwame Brown, Paul Silas, Phoenix Suns | 0 comments

Phoenix Suns. Charlotte Bobcats.
One team led by the aged one, Steve Nash.
The other, led by an up and coming point guard, DJ Augustin.
One winner. Bobcats.

Dramatic wasn’t it. Okay so it wasn’t, but I realized before my blogs were getting boring and monotonous. You wouldn’t want to tap that, let alone read it. So I’m just going to throw whatever comes through this big ole head of mine into this blog. Sounds good? Awesome, because I think really randomly.

So where do I start. Lets start with the big man in the middle, aka Kwame Brown. Let’s just say he’s been impressive of late, as he calls it ‘being big in the paint’ and really is growing leaps and bounds. Very impressive for a guy who struggled throughout most his career, is it not? Again, the big dude there gave us a double double in 26 minutes. Lovely stuff Kwame. Better than Tyson Chandler? Perhaps not. Cheaper? By far. Plus, he has Oakley tutoring him. Who wouldn’t want Oakley tutoring you.

Wallace shot the ball, and sank the ball in the hoop. Lovely stuff Crash, continue to pick up your game please. We all love you when you’re hot and on fire. Please continue that way. Double double for Crash too. Great stuff.

Yes, the title is correct. Yes I did it on purpose. Yes I know Brewer plays for the Bulls, I just answered all your questions about the title didn’t I. Aren’t I smart.

So why not write about the Bulls game by thanking the most wonderful person alive. Thank you Ronnie Brewer. Thank you for killing Crash’s ankle, and in the process pissing him off to epic proportions. Thank you for that, and because of that Crash decided to dunk a putback, and draw an AND-1 play, off your hand in traffic. And simply dominate the Bulls team single-handedly. Thank you for chucking away 2 key points and passing it to Deng who missed the three. Uncertain three or certain 2. Uncertain three certainly worked in our favor, so thank you Brewer. You are the man of the match in my eyes, for simply saving us in the 4th quarter.

It was an intense 4th quarter. D. Rose was able to slice through DJ’s, and promptly the Bobcats defense. But then it’s hard for anyone at all to stop him. However right on the wire, Silas put his faith in Gerald Henderson, which worked wonders. Henderson was able to stay right up close with rose, pushing him away towards the three point line. There, he drew him into a very tough fade away and Rose’s shooting isn’t his forte. He missed the shot by a fair margin, a testament to Rose’s shooting prowess and Henderson’s defense. Bobcats win and fist pumps, brofists and happiness all round. Bulls must be disappointed, losing to us again but hey that’s life. A couple of shocking calls during the end of the game, but we pulled it out.

Bobcats slaughtered by Wizards

Posted by on Dec 21, 2010 in Dominic McGuire, Larry Brown, Washington Wizards | 2 comments

Well, what can I say after a performance like that. For those who know me, I’m our resident Australian Bobcats fan. So yes, that meant I woke up at 8 a.m to watch that game. If you even want to call it a game. I don’t even know where to begin to be honest, because deficiencies were everywhere.

Firstly, turnovers. Forced passes, stupid decisions, being too aggressive in the post. All these lead to turnovers. All these cost us an offensive trip. And for the Bobcats who are absolutely horrendous on offense, we need to cut down because we need every shot we can get. Main offender here was Captain Jack with 6 TOs. I understand hes trying to carry us, but he’s forcing things right now.

Offense. It’s hard enough without Crash, even harder when you have McGuire on the court. I’m not bagging him or anything, but seriously LB don’t play him 20+ minutes. Give it to TT who is able to put points on the board in a short amount of time. Plus TT is a better defender. McGuire is only there for rebounding and hustle. A better defender than UPS? No thanks.

Play Matt Carroll. Seriously LB. When you need a guy to come in and hit a 3. Play him. He’s a great shooter, its what he’s paid for.
