Bobcats News and Notes: 10/20

Stuart Scott’s Lazy Eye discusses Adam Morrison’s stat line from the Bobcats/Hawks preseason game.

Last night, Adam Morrison further proved
that he is the worst 6’8" rebounder in the history of the NBA. Adam
managed ZERO rebounds, ZERO steals, ZERO blocks, and for good measure,
ZERO assists. In 31 minutes of play (he did manage 8 points). So far
this preseason, in 5 games, Mr. Morrison is averaging 1.1 rebounds per
game. In case you are wondering, Spud Webb averaged 2.1 for his career

Sham Sports gives their season preview of the Charlotte Bobcats

As I said above, Charlotte seemed like a strange choice for
automatic inclusion into my predicted playoff seedings. They haven’t,
to coin a phrase, done shit yet. But despite being only a 33 win team a
year ago, they have three big factor working for them:

a) They had a big infusion of talent this offseason, more so than most teams.

b) They have continued interal growth from their young core players.

c) They’re relatively healthy. Well, except Sean May.

Garbage Points gives their very positve preview of the Bobcats Joe:

This team gives me nightmares. They were that club last year that was guaranteed to embarrass a team if they didn’t come to play hard. This year, they will be legitimate contenders. The addition of Jason Richardson was a no-brainer considering they were already stacked with usable depth at Brandan Wright’s position.

End of the Bench believes that the Bobcats are one of four teams (along with the Grizzlies, Pacers or Warriors) that could come out of nowhere and shock us all:

Charlotte Bobcats: among NBA circles, this is no under-the-radar team.
They have a lot of talent, and have spent a lot of time wearing that
“expansion” label to sort of fall under the radar. But now, shit gets
real. This is a stacked team, Pamela Anderson approved. I mean, how
does this team not make the playoffs? Gerald Wallace is pretty
incredible. Jason Richardson is going to be dy-no-mite. Ray Felton is a
pretty special point guard. Emeka Okafor may not be as good as Dwight
Howard will be someday, but right now he’s a heckuva nice power
forward, probably one of the top 5 in the NBA based on his stats. Matt
Carroll can shoot. Adam Morrison should be better. Walter Hermann is
their glue guy. I really, really like this team, as you can guess based
on the number of words I’ve given them. Watch out.
