Wallace and the ‘Cats spoil Steph Curry’s return home, 101-90

If you had any question how well liked young Stephen Curry is in the Queen City, then that was certainly answered tonight. Returning home to Charlotte as a Golden State Warrior, the rookie received a standing ovation in player introductions and was cheered nearly every time he touched the ball. However, Gerald Wallace, DJ Augustin, and Boris Diaw helped the Charlotte Bobcats ruin his trip home, winning 101-90.

Bobcats continue Laker dominance, 98-83

Nights like tonight are when I remind myself why I suffer through losing streaks, ownership issues, bad tv deals, and all the other problems of being a Charlotte Bobcats fan. Being a Bobcats fan means all that, but it also means an annual win or two against the Kobe Bryant-led Los Angeles Lakers, in front of a packed house sprinkled with fair-weather Kobe-lovers, Ric Flair, Bob Johnson, and MJ himself. Tonight was no different, and Gerald Wallace, Stephen Jackson and crew led the Bobcats to a win, 98-83.

Heir Jordan and Walking in Memphis

What an eventful 24 hours for Bobcats fans. First, Captain Jack and crew won an exciting, hard fought game over a young Memphis Grizzlies squad 93-89. Then, in the early morning hours we found out that UNC and NBA legend and current co-owner Michael Jordan will become the next controlling owner of the Bobcats, succeeding Robert Johnson.

Bobcats lose to Clippers 98-94 and are now on the outside looking in for the playoff race

Ever since we made that strong run in the month of January, we (the fans) have thought that it was a lock that the Bobcats were going to make their first ever playoff run, but with losses last week to the Nets and Bucks along with last night’s loss to the Clippers we are on the outside looking in. Technically we are in an 8th place tie with the Milwaukee Bucks but they hold the tiebreaker and if the playoffs started today, the Bobcats would be making vacation plans.
Somehow, …

Bobcats lose to Bucks 98-93, 4th quarter rally falls a bit short

Sometimes you dig a hole so deep that no matter how you fight, you simply can’t climb your way out of it.
The Charlotte Bobcats found themselves in exactly that type of situation on Saturday night. In the first half  the Bobcats allowed the Bucks to repeatedly knock down shots from the perimeter and allowed Andrew Bogut to get anything that he wanted in the paint. That first half from a Bobcats fan’s perspective was very disturbing ( a little like this ) and what it led to was a 54-39 …

Tyrus Thomas traded to Charlotte

The Bobcats have traded for troubled but talented power forward Tyrus Thomas of the Bulls in exchange for Flip Murray, Acie Law, and a future draft pick.

Exciting finish but Bobcats lose to the Lakers (99-97)

The Charlotte Bobcats vs. the LA Lakers 2/3/10
The Bobcats fumbled away an in-bounds pass with 9 seconds on the clock giving Jordon Farmar a dunk. Flip Murray then hit a long 3 pointer, (needed to tie the score when the Bobcats fumbled their inbound), ending the game with a (99-97) lose to the Lakers. Give the Lakers credit for intense defense against a team that had beaten them the last two visits to their building. The ‘Cats again were led by Stephen Jackson who was the …

Boooooo?

I don’t get Boos.  Unless I’m the one booing.  I can only remember booing referees and not them personally but the calls.  I could see booing a guy like Big Baby Davis.  Oh I’m sorry, he wants to be called Glen now.  Basically any Celtic deserves a boo anytime they make one of those plays that they’ve been known for.  Ray Allen in a walkoff, Big Fatty in a walk off.  Not because of the shot but because of the reaction.  The “Ohhh yeah, just as I expected.  I am …

Jackson welcomes himself back to Golden State, Bobcats roll 121-110

The last time a star Warrior was traded to Charlotte for almost nothing and returned to Oracle Arena in Oakland, he was given a hero’s welcome. This time, the Warrior fans had little love for their former swingman. But in the end, it didn’t matter. Captain Jack came to play, as did his First Mate and the rest of his Crew.

Bobcats defeat Suns in OT

The Charlotte Bobcats defeated the Phoenix Suns in OT behind Stephen Jackson’s 30 point game which included a massive 3 pointer to tie it up with 19 seconds left in regulation. In lieu of a lengthy recap ( on my way out of the way out the door to work ) I present to you hilarity from last night’s game thread:

It’s sad. Diaw is so good when he actually wants to be =
UPS got fouled twice, I want him to learn to take the ball up stronger. I’ll give him …

Bobcats find the road is a very dangerous place. Lose to Hawks 103-89.

Well, it had to happen sometime. I suppose it was slightly unrealistic for us Bobcats fans to assume that the ‘Cats were going to breeze through the remaining 42 games of the schedule beating each and every one of their opponents by 40+ points all while setting a dozen or so team records each and every game. Since that didn’t quite happen, we’ll look at what  occurred tonight as a one game bump in the road, just a tiny hiccup on the way to our first ever trip to the …

Bobcats run over Spurs, 92-76, Suns tonight

Last night, your Charlotte Bobcats took on the San Antonio Spurs, who coming into this game were 5-0 in Charlotte and 10-1 all time against the ‘Cats. But, by the end of the night, that would change.
