As you can see from the highlights below, this was far from an easy win.
It took all of the following to get this win in the books:
- A huge effort from Gerald Wallace who amazingly managed to turn 4 made field goals into 26 points ( going 17-19 from the line helps out quite a bit)
- 26 points from Stephen Jackson who was killing it from behind the arc ( 5-6 from three point range )
- Another strong bench effort from Tyrus Thomas who had 20 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocked shots and 2 steals in 30 minutes
- 4th quarter heroics from DJ Augustin who continued his very solid play with 11 assists against only 1 turnover
I’m glad for last night’s win, but as I looked through last night’s box score there was one statline that just leaped off the page at me. Somehow Darko Milicic managed to pound the Bobcats centers to the tune of 13 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocked shots… Darko??? If this doesn’t show a desperate need to upgrade at center, I don’t know what does.
