That was worth it, Wasn’t it? After browsing these 2 links, now you understand the importance of September 13, 2010. It’s 60 days following the trade of Tyson Chandler for Erick Dampier. Mr Dampier can now be packaged along with other Bobcats players in a deal or he could cut from the team for salary cap purposes and his massive cap number magically disappears into DUST.
The trade rumors over the past 60 days involving what might happen with the DUST have been crazy. There were early rumors of being able to spin it into CP3, but those were squashed once Collison was shipped to the Pacers. There were later rumors of the Bobcats being involved in a deal to either acquire Carmelo Anthony or being the 3rd team to facilitate a deal to send Melo another team in a 3 way deal. The acquisition of Melo would be unbelievable for this franchise, but I refuse to get my hopes up for that one. There has also been a good number less inspiring deals discussed like one that would net us Toronto Raptors PG Jose Calderon. On a side note, in a scientific poll among BobcatsPlanet members it was shown that Cats fans would prefer a raging case of syphilis over the acquisition of Jose Calderon by a rate of 58% to 42%. The general feeling is that Calderon’s fantastically bad defense would cause Larry Brown to put a hit out on him withing the first 2 weeks of the season.
Who the Hell knows what is going to happen? Nobody… but one thing is certain, whatever IS going to happen will happen very soon.
Happy DUST Day people, What do you think is going to happen?

If the DUST deal can also package Diaw and get some value for him, then I will be happy.
Calderon is a patient guard and a streaky shooter. Its just his defense. I’ve seen the dude play. He can get to the rim and can burn defenders as well. I would take him if it means trading diaw in a paxkage deal.
My main problem with Calderon is how he would react to LB. If Larry can be described in a word, it is probably “grating.” At this stage in Calderon’s career, is he really willing to deal with a harsh, unforgiving coach and totally change his game? My gut says no. I’m afraid that a trade for Jose would result in tons of Jose-LB problems. It seems to me that younger point guards take to LB because they’re being molded and taught while older guards who come in have to completely change.
Oh and isn’t he injured?
After a few weeks of Calderon’s defense, I predict that LB would put him in a rear naked choke and make him tap out.
That’s after Larry and Herb Brown do their best Ricky Steamboat/Jay Youngblood combination on Rod Higgins for putting Calderon on the roster.
