Fancy pants…look out BigCat is invited to a Black Tie and Tennis shoes Gala! I think this is my first “Gala.” I really don’t know what Gala means but I’ll tell you what my experience was like. This is the 3rd Annual My Hero Black Tie/Tennis Shoes Gala, held at the Arena, Presented by Deloitte and about 30 other sponsors. The event is to raise money for the Bobcats Youth Foundation and Presbyterian Hospital/Bobcats Community Care Cruiser. I was there as a casual observer, don’t really have the clout or …

I’m hurting. I’m not taking it personally but I am hurt. I have to think the Bobcats are way out on their hope to make the playoffs. All those away games coming up and 2 straight, heartbreaking losses, I have to start thinking, this might not be it. Last night was fun, I mean going to the game and the excitement of the crowd an the new people taking interest in my team. But then leaving after the loss and people smiling and the drummers …

Listen, hey, hey, listen…the umm Charlotte Boobcats (get it? Boob?), listen, they pissed me off. But then they made me happy again. Yay, Bobcats! Man, how could you lose to the T-Wolves and Indy and Washington in the span of a week? I mean come on, serious, be real Bobcats. I’m not, I’m not, excited about writing a blog for a team that loses to those kinds of teams at this stage in the sea - shut up, sheason.
Ok, I started that yesterday at lunch as a joke but really, …

I never really kept up before, but this year I realized that the All-Star Break does not fall at the mid-point of the season. The Bobcats are 21-31 right now and on pace to match their best season. That’s not saying much with the previous best coming under Bernie Bickerstaff, and one short of being matched by the guy everyone loved to hate Mr. Hammy McBiscuit last year. This year the Bobcats have a real coach and have overhauled the entire team. That’s a big deal. 23 different players have dressed for the Bobcats …

True enough, your old pal BIGCat could be considered a fuddy duddy, I prefer traditionalist but even my Mother calls me a fuddy duddy. I like to keep things the way they are. You know what I mean. I just got a Blackberry and all I want to do is make phone calls. I have a familiarity with something and want to keep it the same. Before the season I wanted to do the same with these Bobcats. The same guys, basically, over the past 2 years have made late …

Week In Review
Well, well, well. Here we are I haven’t blogged since last year, I hate that joke too. What a 2009 it’s been so far. Personally, one of the crappiest work weeks on record. Getting the F-word screamed in my face Monday, berated by a half-wit know it all on a conference call Tuesday, then dealing with everything else all the rest of it while still trying to keep a happy face because after all it is sales….can’t you just piss off an entire customer base and hope for the best? …

Last night I had the best tickets I’ve ever had for a sporting event in my life. Keetch hooked me up with his 4th row behind the Bobcats bench seats. It was fantastic. I’ve not been that close to players since the old days at Paul Porter Arena (AKA The Boiling Springs Bakery) at Gardner-Webb. I was so close I could see Larry Brown’s ear hair. I was in the middle of a rhombus of Larry Brown, Michael Jordan, Maake Kemoeatu and DeAngello Williams. This is why I’m thankful …
