Anyone got a Center?

After reading further through the forums I have to say that I am impressed with most of the comments; the readers here are obviously well informed about their team and are not shy about sharing their thoughts.
That being said I have a question or more of an observation of sorts that I would like to present; I will be very curious and a little eager even to read your comments.
The concerns at point guard are clear. Whether or not the team should have let Raymond Felton go we will not …

Just in case D.J. Augustin does not work out…

After reading threw a number of the posts that fans have written on different forums on Bobcats Planet I can see that there is not a whole lot of faith being put in the ability of D.J. Augustin to run the point for the team in the 2010-11 season.
Personally, I am holding out hope for the third year pro. After watching him at Texas for a couple years I got to see first-hand how talented he is, and I’m hoping that all he needs is the opportunity to play …

Why Keeping Diaw May Not Be So Bad

Across the forum there have been several people calling for the Front Office to trade Diaw now we have Tyrus Thomas on a starter’s contract. I think if Diaw was traded no one would argue with it or say they never saw it coming, considering he was almost traded to Toronto. However if Diaw was not moved before the start of the season there would be some benefits.
Throughout Diaw’s career, he has always been one of the most versatile players in the NBA and can quite literally play any position. …

Boris Diaw: Will he stay or will he go?

When it comes to professional sports, you can’t always judge the success of season based on championships. As much as everyone wants to get there and sees it as the ultimate goal, only one team can. Sometimes you have to take baby steps before looking at the championship as a realistic goal.
That is exactly what the Charlotte Bobcats accomplished last season. Their record of 44-38 was a nine game improvement off of 2009 and good enough to earn them their first playoff berth. Being swept by the Magic was no …

Report Cards!

Now that the Bobcats are officially in the offseason, it’s time to grade how they did. Over the next month, I’ll be giving every player and select non-players their grades for the season. But I’ll start with a general report card for the entire team. Enjoy!

Trader Mike

In baseball, there’s a man named Jack McKeon. He’s known in baseball circles as “Trader Jack.” He’s a retired manager who is the oldest manager to win a World Series. But what does all this have to do with the Bobcats? Well, Trader Jack is very similar to Michael Jordan.

Jackson’s 3 downs Bucks, 87-86 (OT)

On a night when everything seemed to be going wrong, Captain Jack stepped up with under a minute left in overtime to deliver a knockout blow to the Milwaukee Bucks, giving the Charlotte Bobcats the win, 87-86.

Wallace and the ‘Cats spoil Steph Curry’s return home, 101-90

If you had any question how well liked young Stephen Curry is in the Queen City, then that was certainly answered tonight. Returning home to Charlotte as a Golden State Warrior, the rookie received a standing ovation in player introductions and was cheered nearly every time he touched the ball. However, Gerald Wallace, DJ Augustin, and Boris Diaw helped the Charlotte Bobcats ruin his trip home, winning 101-90.

Heir Jordan and Walking in Memphis

What an eventful 24 hours for Bobcats fans. First, Captain Jack and crew won an exciting, hard fought game over a young Memphis Grizzlies squad 93-89. Then, in the early morning hours we found out that UNC and NBA legend and current co-owner Michael Jordan will become the next controlling owner of the Bobcats, succeeding Robert Johnson.

BigCat: Big Wrap

I’m not blogging as much as I’d like and for that I appologize to you, loyal reader.  I started one last weekend but I was interrupted about 30-40 times by my Mother, Father and Niece asking “What are you doing?”  Or rather, when it’s my niece:  ”UN-kle! AN-DRAW!  You come play with my dooooollll-houssssseee?”  She’s 18 and we’re so proud she learned to talk finally (jokes, she’s 3 and the cutest stinkin kid you’ve ever seen).
I have been keeping up with all the goings-on with the Bobcats.  I’m very confused …

Bobcats run over Spurs, 92-76, Suns tonight

Last night, your Charlotte Bobcats took on the San Antonio Spurs, who coming into this game were 5-0 in Charlotte and 10-1 all time against the ‘Cats. But, by the end of the night, that would change.

THAT! Is How It’s Done!

Bobcats are a legit playoff contender.  It’s not secret.  Gerald Wallace is a legit All-Star calliber player.  Whether the coaches and players realize it remains to be seen.  He was not on form last night against the Houston Rockets.  The Rockets come in with a team of “Huh?  Who?  Wow, He looks exactly like a Q-Tip!” players but they are winning, in the West no less!
The ‘Cats played from behind most of the evening with Gerald Wallace, cold.  I mean COLD like the weather for the last 3 weeks cold. …

Just some observations

Sup everybody, BETCATS checking back in. If you are reading this, i would like to wish you a happy holiday season. At the time i wrote my last piece for the site, the Bobcats were struggling. A lot of us were panicking and we were all starting to think maybe the playoffs are out of reach. The faith in our team to get the job done was questionable. We then went on a little win streak, and everyone was satisfied temporarily. But that was then.
Fast forward to today, the Bobcats are …

You Got Questions?

I WANT THE TRUTH!  You can’t handle the truth.
Thanks Jack.  BigCat here, I was just mulling all this “Gerald Wallace calls out Tyson Chandler and Boris Diaw, Tyson Chandler plays well and tells Gerald where to stick it” stuff.  I’m not impressed.  All I want to know is, who is showing up every night?  Who is going to make the plays to put this team ahead or bring this team up from behind and steal a victory.  Neither has happened of late.  One win against 6 losses in the last…..umm, …
