With the conclusion of the summer league, I’ve gone back to read what I wrote with what I hoped would happen in the Summer League and the improvement of the “rookies.” And I am happy to say, that they have both improved, in my eyes Hendo being the biggest improver.
First up, Gerald Henderson aka Hendo aka Fro
What I wrote previously:
Improvement: Needs a big off-season, as he’ll be fighting for minutes. Training camp and pre-season games will show whether he deserves minutes or not. He needs to work on …

The Bench, THE BENCH, scored 50 something last night and Gerald Henderson (remember him? the rookie from Duke?) had some NASTY to the third power dunks. I commented on twitter (can we not call it a “tweet”) that there has never been a line up that wanted to dunk more than Hendo, Ty Thomas and Ty Chandler on the floor. If you put Gerald Wallace and Ryan Hollins out there you’d have nothing but dunks. (I kinda miss Mr. Hollins. Athlete, dunk, block, foul machine) But who would pass them …

Tonight’s game was brought to you by the Bobcats bench. Only one starter, Raymond Felton, played for as many as thirty minutes tonight as Coach Larry Brown got his starters some much needed rest before the play-offs. Seven ‘Cats players scored in double figures and three of those came in from the bench. Gerald Henderson, 14 points, Tyrus Thomas, 13 points, and DJ Augustine with 11 points made resting the starters a possibility for Coach Brown. Tyson Chandler, 7 points, and Stephen Graham, 5 points, rounded out the solid offensive …

If you had any question how well liked young Stephen Curry is in the Queen City, then that was certainly answered tonight. Returning home to Charlotte as a Golden State Warrior, the rookie received a standing ovation in player introductions and was cheered nearly every time he touched the ball. However, Gerald Wallace, DJ Augustin, and Boris Diaw helped the Charlotte Bobcats ruin his trip home, winning 101-90.

Nights like tonight are when I remind myself why I suffer through losing streaks, ownership issues, bad tv deals, and all the other problems of being a Charlotte Bobcats fan. Being a Bobcats fan means all that, but it also means an annual win or two against the Kobe Bryant-led Los Angeles Lakers, in front of a packed house sprinkled with fair-weather Kobe-lovers, Ric Flair, Bob Johnson, and MJ himself. Tonight was no different, and Gerald Wallace, Stephen Jackson and crew led the Bobcats to a win, 98-83.

TooCool here, how you all hanging. Hope you’ve enjoyed beating Miami and Cleveland as much as I have, and on the ROAD too. Anyway, let’s get down to business.
I’m here to talk about our rookies.
Let me just start off by saying that I love Hendo. He’s a great player, professional and hard working. He has a great work ethic and he is a freakish athlete. He reminds me of a Crash, not as big or with the mouthpiece hanging out, but as an electrifying player. We’ve all seen flashes of …

The Bobcats beat the Heat Saturday afternoon behind 35 points and 8 rebounds from Stephen Jackson. This was the first road win for the Cats since November 28 when they got a win against the gun toting Wizards. This afternoon they have a chance to get a 2nd straight road win, If they get it will make one fan in particular very, very happy.
There were several positives to take from this game:
DJ Augustin shot the ball very well and played with a lot of confidence
Derrick Brown had a strong 2nd …

Below is the infamous rookie card shoot that inadvertantly leaked the Bobcats new uniforms earlier than the organization would have liked.
In this video you get a real good look at the new home jerseys… I can’t wait to see what the away unis look like.

We’re down to a handful of people that the Charlotte Bobcats are considering for their #12 pick. Most of the attention seems to be on Terrence Williams and Gerald Henderson, but lets throw Dejuan Blair in the mix also as a dark horse. Based on comments that Larry Brown made following his workout, he seems to be high on LB’s list. Here is the latest linkage on these 3 prospects

Over the next few weeks we’ll be taking a look at players that the Charlotte Bobcats may draft at the #12 spot in this years draft.
Before we get started, I hope you don’t mind if I step off topic for just a moment to comment on the Clippers winning last night’s draft lottery. If there is a team in the league that deserves the #1 pick any less than them, then I’m not aware of it. They’ve been fixtures in the lottery just about every year since the Reagan administration …
