Wallace and the ‘Cats spoil Steph Curry’s return home, 101-90

If you had any question how well liked young Stephen Curry is in the Queen City, then that was certainly answered tonight. Returning home to Charlotte as a Golden State Warrior, the rookie received a standing ovation in player introductions and was cheered nearly every time he touched the ball. However, Gerald Wallace, DJ Augustin, and Boris Diaw helped the Charlotte Bobcats ruin his trip home, winning 101-90.

Bobcats continue Laker dominance, 98-83

Nights like tonight are when I remind myself why I suffer through losing streaks, ownership issues, bad tv deals, and all the other problems of being a Charlotte Bobcats fan. Being a Bobcats fan means all that, but it also means an annual win or two against the Kobe Bryant-led Los Angeles Lakers, in front of a packed house sprinkled with fair-weather Kobe-lovers, Ric Flair, Bob Johnson, and MJ himself. Tonight was no different, and Gerald Wallace, Stephen Jackson and crew led the Bobcats to a win, 98-83.

Heir Jordan and Walking in Memphis

What an eventful 24 hours for Bobcats fans. First, Captain Jack and crew won an exciting, hard fought game over a young Memphis Grizzlies squad 93-89. Then, in the early morning hours we found out that UNC and NBA legend and current co-owner Michael Jordan will become the next controlling owner of the Bobcats, succeeding Robert Johnson.

Nazr Mohammed is a Bargain

In a league and on a team historically parched for big men, Nazr Mohammed is showing his worth on offense, defense, and the budget.

Also, notes from pre-deadline trade rumors and All-Star Weekend

All Star Weekend 2010

I come to you live from….my desk, in my crappy cube….in Charlotte, NC.  How I wish I were in Dallas this weekend!  As Bobcats Fans, we finally have something to get behind.  This is the first time we’ve had anyone in any of the marquee events.  Sure the Rookie/Soph challenge or whatever that dunkfest on Friday night is called, has been a place to showcase some of the talent currently residing in Charlotte but it’s attended by kids, not even paying adults.  Still counts I guess.
Gerald Wallace agreed to the …

Jackson welcomes himself back to Golden State, Bobcats roll 121-110

The last time a star Warrior was traded to Charlotte for almost nothing and returned to Oracle Arena in Oakland, he was given a hero’s welcome. This time, the Warrior fans had little love for their former swingman. But in the end, it didn’t matter. Captain Jack came to play, as did his First Mate and the rest of his Crew.

Shannon Brown, Nate Robinson, DeMar Derozan and Eric Gordon compete to be runner-up in the 2010 Gerald Wallace Invitational

Shannon Brown, Nate Robinson, DeMar Derozan and Eric Gordon will be competing for the runner-up spot in the Gerald Wallace Invitational ( also know as the 2010 NBA Dunk Contest ).
Gerald has been throwing it down on peoples heads for years and he absolutely still has the hops, just ask Lebron.

Need further evidence? Sit back and enjoy the magic of Youtube.

So Shannon, Demar, Nate, Eric… Don’t feel bad, second place isn’t all bad.

Bobcats run over Spurs, 92-76, Suns tonight

Last night, your Charlotte Bobcats took on the San Antonio Spurs, who coming into this game were 5-0 in Charlotte and 10-1 all time against the ‘Cats. But, by the end of the night, that would change.

Bobcats Buck Up, 94-84; Raptors Next

After a disappointing loss in Oklahoma City, the Bobcats were home last night to face the Milwaukee Bucks, who they are battling for playoff position. This would be the final game played at Time Warner Cable Arena this decade (the Bobcats play one more game before New Year’s, but that’s in Toronto), and the Bobcats didn’t disappoint.

You Got Questions?

I WANT THE TRUTH!  You can’t handle the truth.
Thanks Jack.  BigCat here, I was just mulling all this “Gerald Wallace calls out Tyson Chandler and Boris Diaw, Tyson Chandler plays well and tells Gerald where to stick it” stuff.  I’m not impressed.  All I want to know is, who is showing up every night?  Who is going to make the plays to put this team ahead or bring this team up from behind and steal a victory.  Neither has happened of late.  One win against 6 losses in the last…..umm, …

Quarter of the Way Through

I like big sandwiches, especially this time of year.  Between the holidays, treats, parties, large meals, a sandwich is the best.  Not to go all Joey from friends but really, 2 pieces of bread and a million possibilities in between.  You know when you’re like 2-3 bites in if it’s good or not.  That’s a quarter of a good sandwich for me, 2-3 bites.  So how does this sandwich taste so far?
You’ve had a couple ingredients that leave a bad taste (New Jersey and the 0-4 start), but then there …

Thursday afternoon linkage: Sam Cassell’s family returns to planet earth

Behold… Linkage to brighten up your Thursday afternoon.
Hardwood Paroxysm ( runs to dictionary.com to find out what the heck paroxysm means ) reports that there are several Bobcats that have been dealing with a lot of rejection this season.
Rufus on Fiyaaaaaah is putting together a list of Gerald Wallace facts (Chuck Norris style), For example:
Gerald Wallace doesn’t jump. When he dunks, the arena lowers itself to his eye level.
From the BCP Forums, apparently Charlotte Bobcats interns have great perks. Also BCP fans feel that if Dennis Rodman could make it …

Bobcats defeat the Nuggets 107-95

This Bobcat team is hard to figure out. We beat Lebron James and the Cavs, then lose to the 0-18 Nets, then a game or two later we beat high powered Denver Nuggets.. It’s impossible to figure this team out, but they’ve won  6 out of their last 8 and have moved to 8-3 at home. I’ll take it.
Once again Gerald Wallace was ridiculous in this game with 25 points and 16 rebounds, He is well on his way way to being the smallest rebounding champ since Dennis Rodman. Stephen …

All-Star Contention. Crash vs Eastern Conference

Looking at the Eastern Conference, our dear Crash has a lot of competition on his hands.
Let’s look at the players contesting with Wallace for the All-star position in the Eastern Conference for All-star.
Boston Celtics:
Paul Pierce, a seven time All-star. Impressive record, and last season he averaged 20.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. Pierce has given up numbers due to age and having Allen and Garnett on the floor at the same time. Pierce is a tough one for Wallace to beat, due to his great …
