Exciting finish but Bobcats lose to the Lakers (99-97)

The Charlotte Bobcats vs. the LA Lakers 2/3/10
The Bobcats fumbled away an in-bounds pass with 9 seconds on the clock giving Jordon Farmar a dunk. Flip Murray then hit a long 3 pointer, (needed to tie the score when the Bobcats fumbled their inbound), ending the game with a (99-97) lose to the Lakers. Give the Lakers credit for intense defense against a team that had beaten them the last two visits to their building. The ‘Cats again were led by Stephen Jackson who was the …

LA Lakers: Your 2008-2009 NBA Champs

and the Orlando Magic roll over and take it like champs.
Seriously, watching this series was like watching a lucky team vs. a good team.  The Lakers and whatever you make of Kobe Bryant and his scowl were the dominant team, eventhough 2 games went to overtime and the Magic won one.  I keep thinking of what could have been.  I know Nike and the puppets wanted a Kobe/Lebron final but Lebron and the Lebronettes aren’t ready, and they’ll probably ship half the team to Phoenix to bring in that “super” …

Listen, hey, hey, listen…the umm Charlotte Boobcats (get it? Boob?), listen, they pissed me off.  But then they made me happy again.  Yay, Bobcats!  Man, how could you lose to the T-Wolves and Indy and Washington in the span of a week?  I mean come on, serious, be real Bobcats.  I’m not, I’m not, excited about writing a blog for a team that loses to those kinds of teams at this stage in the sea - shut up, sheason.

Ok, I started that yesterday at lunch as a joke but really, …

Phil Jackson, you will need all of your quote-unquote zen like abilities to turn Adam Morrison into an NBA caliber player.
A couple of issues right off the bat.

In the video below Phil mentions that Adam is a good spot up shooter. Good spot up shooters don’t miss 64% of their shots.
Adam has confidence issues. Can a player who hangs his head after every missed shot ( and there are plenty of them ) survive with his sanity intact around someone as maniacally demanding as Kobe? Doubtful.
From a defensive …

Last night the Charlotte Bobcats defeated the Los Angeles Lakers on their home court 108-95. Jason Richardson lit up the Lakers for 34 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Matt Carroll helped out with 18 points and Emeka Okafor arose from the dead with 11 points and 11 boards. The icing on the cake was seeing Kobe lose his cool and get kicked out of the game

It was a fun night… unless of course you are a Laker fan. …

“What was going on last night?” My wife asked me this morning, “I kept hearing you scream something about ‘the mamba.’” Indeed, last night illustrated exactly why I could never be a sports announcer. With 9 seconds left in regulation, the Bobcats up three points, and the Lakers in-bounding, here’s how it would have sounded if my comments had been on the air: “Watch the mamba, watch the mamba, NOT THE MAMBA…(Bad word, screamed repeatedly)!!!”
In this morning’s Charlotte Observer, Rick Bonnell wrote that Kobe Bryant “forced overtime by hitting …

Oooh, it’s the lights…action…Hollywood! The Lakers were in town Friday night–the much improved Lakers. Sure, Lamar Odom’s out, but Luke Walton’s been much better this year, Kwame Brown’s been, um, less worse, Andrew Bynum has played like an experienced veteran (or at least as if he’s of legal drinking age)…Actually the only real disappointment has been off-season acquisition Vladimir Radmanovic, who should be doing a lot more for this team other than looking eerily like a Bee-Gee (who’s in his entourage anyway, James Spader?). In fact, Coach Phil Jackson called …
