Anyone got a Center?

After reading further through the forums I have to say that I am impressed with most of the comments; the readers here are obviously well informed about their team and are not shy about sharing their thoughts.
That being said I have a question or more of an observation of sorts that I would like to present; I will be very curious and a little eager even to read your comments.
The concerns at point guard are clear. Whether or not the team should have let Raymond Felton go we will not …

Report Cards!

Now that the Bobcats are officially in the offseason, it’s time to grade how they did. Over the next month, I’ll be giving every player and select non-players their grades for the season. But I’ll start with a general report card for the entire team. Enjoy!

Nazr Mohammed is a Bargain

In a league and on a team historically parched for big men, Nazr Mohammed is showing his worth on offense, defense, and the budget.

Tyson Chandler Needs to Come Back

That’s right.  All the hate, and I mean allllll of it, while warranted, is somewhat moot.  The Bobcats need Tyson Chandler back in the line up if they want to be successful and sustain some level of established improvement.  It’s not that he brings so much himself, it’s what he allows the defense to do.  I made fun of the “article” I found via some website, via his website, which was a rehash of an article Rick Bonnell wrote.  And I will give Rick credit here, as much as I …

Wednesday Morning Bobcats Linkage

Nazr Mohammed is a producer… Wow, who knew?
“Fat Bitch!” is being produced by NBA champion, Charlotte Bobcats Center, and Chicago native Nazr Mohammed, who Watson has known since elementary school, when they lived next door in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood (blocks from President Obama’s house). Autographed sports memorabilia from Mohammed (to be announced later; likely to include apparel and Bulls/Bobcats tickets) will be raffled off at each of the five “Fat Bitch!” shows to benefit organizations dealing with young people and self-esteem. Detailed bios are below.

Welcome to the “Post-Season”

Post-season just means after the season, doesn’t mean anything about playoffs so I’m just saying, I’m not upset the Bobcats didn’t make it, that’s all I’m saying ok?
I’ve been a little defensive as a fan lately.  I mentioned paying off my season tickets with my tax return, which I received in 6 days by the way.  My Dad said to me “Wow, that’s a lot of money to see someone lose.”  Don’t worry, he meant it as a joke because I had made fun of his awesome turkey neck minutes …

Nazr Mohammed: Play me or trade me.

I found this little nugget via The Rocky Mount Telegram. Apparently Nazr Mohammed is really, really displeased with his lack of playing time under Coach Larry Brown. Nazr’s ultimatum:
A day after concluding a frustrating season where he never made it into coach Larry Brown’s rotation, the veteran center said he wants to play elsewhere in 2009-10 if his playing time doesn’t increase.
“It’s not something that I take lightly,” Mohammed said Thursday. “If I’m back here, I want to play. If that can’t be facilitated, I don’t want to be back.”

Friday had to be one of the strangest days in Bobcats history—second only to the day ownership decided to give Charlotte’s new team the name “Bobcats.”  Just a couple of nights after there was no television coverage of our game against the Clips whatsoever, ESPN ran a virtual all-day, um, “extravaganza” of “Insider Access” to Charlotte’s pre-game shootaround, conversations with Sam Vincent, Michael Jordan, Bob Johnson, a little fun with Jared Dudley, a gritty rehab session with Adam Morrison (remember him?), and a comically staged “meeting” of the coaching staff.  All …

Primoz Brezec, Trades »

[14 Dec 2007 | No Comment | ]

A trade has just been announced
where the Charlotte Bobcats will send Primoz Brezec and Walter Hermann
to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for center Nazr Mohammed.

Losing
Fabio may haunt us down the road, he finished up strong last season
winning the rookie of the month for April. But we had to do what we had
to do in order to get another big man for this team.

Losing Primoz ( The Slovenian Butterfly ) doesn’t hurt us at all unless you have some sort of attachment to funny accents.
