With the 54th pick…

The Charlotte Bobcats select Robert Vaden, a G from UAB.
He’s billed as a shooter who’s also a terrific athlete. He started at Indiana before transferring to UAB, and majored in Philosophy. He’s also a leader on court and when he catches fire, can’t be turned off.
NOTE: This pick has been sold to OKC.

Future Bobcat? Terrence Williams.

At first glance Terrence Williams seems like he would be a perfect pick at #12 for the Bobcats in the upcoming draft. The  Bobcats are looking at SG depth to backup or challenge Raja Bell, Williams has legit SG size at 6′6″ & 1/4 in shoes, he plays excellent defense, he fills out the stat sheet and as you can see from the video below, he is an elite athlete.

The big negative that jumps out at me with T-Will is his shooting. He shot 43.1% from the field last season …

Future Bobcat? Dejuan Blair.

I know what you’re thinking… Why draft another power forward with weight problems.  While we’re at it, lets make him undersized with a history of knee problems. Sounds like a great investment for our number 12 pick right? Ordinarily I wouldn’t touch that resume with a 10 foot pole, BUT take a look at this rebound versus potential top 3 pick Hasheem Thabeet…

It’s been a while (let’s make that never) since I’ve seen one of the Bobcats almost rip a players arm out of the socket going for a rebound. …

Future Bobcat? Gerald Henderson.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be taking a look at players that the Charlotte Bobcats may draft at the #12 spot in this years draft.
Before we get started, I hope you don’t mind if I step off topic for just a moment to comment on the Clippers winning last night’s draft lottery. If there is a team in the league that deserves the #1 pick any less than them, then I’m not aware of it. They’ve been fixtures in the lottery just about every year since the Reagan administration …

Early results from the 2009 “fixed” NBA Draft Lottery

If the NBA draft lottery is fixed, what would be the results that would make David Stern the happiest? For this exercise we’ll focus on the teams 1 through 3.
Here we go.
1.  Oklahoma City Thunder - With the #1 pick this will allow the Thunder to draft (from their own backyard) Blake Griffin. Pairing Blake Griffin along with Kevin Durant solidifies their frontcourt (and their new fanbase) for the foreseeable future.

2.  New York Knicks - This will be the team that beats the long odds and moves way up the …
