The Bench: Bobcats win against the Nets (105-95)

Tonight’s game was brought to you by the Bobcats bench. Only one starter, Raymond Felton, played for as many as thirty minutes tonight as Coach Larry Brown got his starters some much needed rest before the play-offs. Seven ‘Cats players scored in double figures and three of those came in from the bench. Gerald Henderson, 14 points, Tyrus Thomas, 13 points, and DJ Augustine with 11 points made resting the starters a possibility for Coach Brown. Tyson Chandler, 7 points, and Stephen Graham, 5 points, rounded out the solid offensive …

New Jersey Nets defeat the Charlotte Bobcats… AGAIN

Today’s game is brought to you by the word abomination
a?bom?i?na?tion

1.
anything abominable; anything greatly disliked or abhorred.

2.
intense aversion or loathing; detestation: He regarded lying with abomination.

3.
a vile, shameful, or detestable action, condition, habit, etc.:

Why is it that we are the only team in the NBA capable of making the 4-infinity 5-infinity New Jersey Nets look like the showtime Lakers??? I don’t understand it and the longer I think about it, the more it makes my head hurt. How does this hot garbage happen to us?
Maybe it’s Brook Lopez …

Welcome to 24 hours of NetsPlanet!!!

Apparently there was some loudmouth (ummm that would be me) on BobcatsPlanet that proclaimed that if the sorry assed Nets beat the Bobcats tonight then they would turn BobcatsPlanet into NetsPlanet for 24 hours. Well…. heh heh heh what do you know, Those ingrates managed to step up and get a win against the Cats tonight leaving me and the rest of the BCP faithful having to subject ourselves to the  taunts and ridicule of New Jersey Nets fans.
Well we’re all men here ( although we still have our doubts …

Who needs to score 80+ points anyway???

Not the Bobcats. They scored just 79 points monday night against the Nets, but still managed to walk away with an 11 point win. This game was not pretty to watch ( The Bobcats had a 10 point first quarter… The Nets trumped that with a 7 point third ) but a win is a win is a win. And 2-2 feels a lot better than 1-3.
DJ Augustin was large this game with 21 points and 3 steals off the bench. Gerald Wallace was a grown man with 24 points …

Charlotte Bobcats / New Jersey Nets linkage

Last night on the road against the New Jersey Nets, the Bobcats lost their 3rd straight and 4th out of their last 5 games.  It was an intersting game for a couple of reasons: Brook Lopez lost his mind and almost put up a 20/20 game and  Larry Brown gave heavy minutes to many of his bench players.  Linkage below.
The Charlotte Observer
“It was us coming through at the right time,” said Hayes, who finished with 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including a perfect 3-for-3 from long range. “We wanted to …

Fans of the Charlotte Bobcats are quickly becoming very disgruntled with the goofy lineups , bizarre shot distribution (last night Emeka Okafor only gets 2 shots in 35 minutes ?????) and mounting losses that are piling up under new Coach Sam Vincent. This was supposed to be the season that we contended for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, but following a 6-4 start this team has collapsed. The players look confused , the coach looks overmatched and the fans are not pleased.

Sorry I didn’t get a chance to comment on Friday night’s game against the Sixers. I’m in a Forecasting class at school right now and I was working on an insanely difficult assignment–the handout for the project itself was 9 pages of single-spaced, 10-font instructions. I took this class ostensibly to help me predict things like market share but secretly to help me pick football games (in the final project we have to take a series of data sets—of our choosing—and use software to help us make predictions—hmmm, wonder what …

A raucous crowd of nearly 200 saw the Bobcats saw take on the Nets Wednesday night. I’ve seen larger crowds at cockfights, although I suppose you could chalk it up to the weather. The “modest” attendance had me wondering if sometime soon we’ll actually hear commentator Matt Devlin say things like, “Good seats are still available for upcoming games. In fact they’re still available for this very game. If you act now, you could probably get here by halftime.” Of course, this is based on the assumption that we’ll actually …
