When it comes to professional sports, you can’t always judge the success of season based on championships. As much as everyone wants to get there and sees it as the ultimate goal, only one team can. Sometimes you have to take baby steps before looking at the championship as a realistic goal.
That is exactly what the Charlotte Bobcats accomplished last season. Their record of 44-38 was a nine game improvement off of 2009 and good enough to earn them their first playoff berth. Being swept by the Magic was no …

ESPN - Appreciate Stephen Jackson… Right now Dammit!
Howard The Dunk - Magic-Bobcats All about defense
Charlotte came in with a reputation as a defensive team who sometimes struggles on the offensive end. The Magic, on the other hand, are known for their inside game with Center Dwight Howard and their 3-point shooters (the Magic set an NBA record for most 3-pointers made in a season this year). Scoring inside and shooting the 3-pointer are things …

The Bobcats vs. the Magic 4/22/10
I appreciate Ziggy getting a game summary posted for the second game since it was my assignment and I apologize to all for being late posting. I really wanted to digest what I saw and it “taste” more bitter today than last night. The Bobcats proved they could play wretched basketball in the very first game of the season against the Boston Celtics. Teams have “misfires” during the season but come play-off time you expect every team to put their collect “best foot forward”. I …

That was painful.
In the first half of game 2 the Bobcats managed to put up 30 points… Not the first quarter, The first HALF. In order to beat the Orlando Magic, they are going to have to find some way to get some shots to fall. Other than Captain Jack who gave the Cats 27 points, there wasn’t anyone else that was consistently putting the ball in the basket.

Bobcats lose to whoever the hell they played
It’s 10:30 Monday morning and I feel like I was run over by a truck. BigCat’s tip of the day: If you’re going to try and go all day sports, bring some water and eat your bananas. Don’t drink beer all day long. It’s a bad idea. Especially if you’re expected to do a blog on the Bobcats game.
Orlando wore us out down the stretch. Really nice spark going into halftime for the ‘Cats …

Super Man vs. Not Super Man
Walking out of the arena on Friday night I was asked by the guy who sits behind me every game for the last 2 years, “You feel like doing the double dip on Sunday?” Whoa, I hadn’t thought about that. Sundays are a day of rest, usually.
Tomorrow will be a huge long day, even if I didn’t go to the Panthers game (as was the case Friday night); it would be a big sports day. I’ll be …

Tonight at 7pm the Bobcats travel to Orlando to face Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic.
Orlando is currently sitting comfortably on top of the Southeast division with a 20-11 record with a three game lead over their closest competitor the Atlanta Hawks…. Yep, the Hawks. The Bobcats on the other hand have fallen to 10-17 and 13th in the Eastern conference following last night’s loss against the New Orleans Hornets.
There are a few things that concern me in tonight’s game
The Bobcats are 0-5 in the second game of back to …

Okay, quick test. In his essential-reading weekly column, “Monday Morning Quarterback,” CNNSI.com’s Peter King had this item in his “Things I Think I Think” section:
“a. Craig Biggio has some Tom Brady in him. Same kind of superstar — accessible, team-first, thoughtful.”
After reading this, is your first thought: a) Great comparison, they’re both old-school competitors who just want to win but are also very down to earth and “team-first,” as King pointed out.
Or is it: b) So, apparently, does Gisele Bundchen.
I’ll admit it was (b) for me, …

The Magic had revenge on their minds Friday night after (and how weird does this sound) the Bobcats humiliated them a few weeks ago on national television. Okay, Emeka Okafor, you’re going up against that Jolly African American Giant, Dwight Howard, so it’s imperative you box him out, not let him get off to a head start, and…not IMMEDIATELY get two fouls and head straight to the bench for the rest of the first quarter. Whoa boy. After Okafor collected his second personal only a few minutes into the game, …

Why wait 15 or 20 years for a natural rival to create itself? If we wait until then, we'll be forced to get hyped up over the shleprocks of the league like the Atlanta Hawks or the New York Knicks.
So today, I propose that we skip over the tedious process of "naturally" creating a hated rival and name one today.
My suggestion is The Orlando Magic. The Magic and the Bobcats are both young and in the same division, so they'll likely be butting …
