Bobcats lose to Clippers 98-94 and are now on the outside looking in for the playoff race

Ever since we made that strong run in the month of January, we (the fans) have thought that it was a lock that the Bobcats were going to make their first ever playoff run, but with losses last week to the Nets and Bucks along with last night’s loss to the Clippers we are on the outside looking in. Technically we are in an 8th place tie with the Milwaukee Bucks but they hold the tiebreaker and if the playoffs started today, the Bobcats would be making vacation plans.
Somehow, …

Sorry, I was mistaken. THIS is how it’s done!

Eric Spolestra, Dwayne Wade, Michael Beasley, Pat Riley…sorry, unimpressed. Let me break this down for a min or two:
Longest Home Win Streak
21 wins for the first time before what? April
Highest FG % for a quarter
Fewest FG % and # allowed
Fewest Points Allowed
Largest Margin of Victory
3rd Time Ever 2 games over .500
Go back to Miami and try and figure out how to play ball. I am not big on rubbing one in but man I can’t stand the Heat and living off of a Championship for the past few …

THAT! Is How It’s Done!

Bobcats are a legit playoff contender.  It’s not secret.  Gerald Wallace is a legit All-Star calliber player.  Whether the coaches and players realize it remains to be seen.  He was not on form last night against the Houston Rockets.  The Rockets come in with a team of “Huh?  Who?  Wow, He looks exactly like a Q-Tip!” players but they are winning, in the West no less!
The ‘Cats played from behind most of the evening with Gerald Wallace, cold.  I mean COLD like the weather for the last 3 weeks cold. …

Man, I never thought the playoffs could be so BORING

The playoffs back in those years between local NBA franchises were kind of fun.  The Hornets basically left town in 01-02, but that was my freshman year in college and anything cheap and different was awesome.  We got in to 3 Playoff games that year for $5 each, sure we were sitting in the top of the cavernous old arena but it was fun (covered sections and all), one of our favorite local bands, Weekend Excusion, would play pre-game in the parking lot and like I said, $5!!!  They won …

Bobcats lose to Thunder: We are mathematically eliminated

It’s official, We are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Group Hug anyone??? Ewwww… Maybe not.
The problems that we had against the Thunder tonight were really a microcosm of the ones that have popped up this season.
Problem #1 - Raymond Felton’s shooting. He was 4-16 from the floor tonight and 40.4% from the field and 28.6% from three point range so far this season. This is even more troubling because Ray leads the team in attempts per game and normally takes the shot when the game is on the line. …

We’re Done

We’re done. Stick a fork in us.
Don’t get me wrong, I would love to have the basketball gods prove me wrong and have the Bobcats win their final 5 games while either the Pistons or the Bulls lose their final 5 games, but lets be realists here… That’s not going to happen.
What accepting the Bobcats’ fate does for me now is that allows me to fully reflect on this season without being pulled in a direction by my basketball psyche that’s screaming “We can still do this!!”. After the loss …

I’m hurting. I’m not taking it personally but I am hurt. I have to think the Bobcats are way out on their hope to make the playoffs. All those away games coming up and 2 straight, heartbreaking losses, I have to start thinking, this might not be it. Last night was fun, I mean going to the game and the excitement of the crowd an the new people taking interest in my team. But then leaving after the loss and people smiling and the drummers …

We are in uncharted territory.
Following last night’s road win against the Knicks (see highlights below), The Bobcats are now 1 single game out of the 8th spot in the eastern conference.  This would have seemed unimaginable this time last season to those of us who suffered through The Sam Vincent era, but Larry Brown has these guys playing team ball reminiscent of his Pistons teams. Take a look at last night’s boxscore and you’ll see what I mean, every starter was in double figures, every starter shot over 50% from the field, we outrebounded the Knicks …

Last night we defeated the LA Clippers to finish up our road trip 3-2. The Clippers were without their starting center Chris Kayman and outstanding rookie Eric Gordon, so this would have been a severe disappointment to let this very winnable opportunity slip by. Thankfully after some very choice words by Larry Brown, Emeka Okafor and rest of the Bobcats stepped it up and did what they needed to do against the Clips who were clearly outgunned.
Now we’re only 3 games out of the 8th spot with 22 games …

The Bobcats beat up on the Wizards last night to reach 21-31 entering the All-Star break. Raymond Felton had a strong game and was “this close” to a triple double, Emeka had yet another double-double ( the scorekeeper should just mark him down ahead of time for 14 and 11, those numbers are automatic for him ), DJ had another strong shooting 7-12 from the field with 4 threes for 24 points but best of all Vlad “The Impaler” Radmanovic went wild from the three point stripe hitting 5 of …

1. The removal of Sam Vincent and the hiring of Larry Brown.
Anytime you can move from this

To This
Then that alone is worth 6 or 7 wins by itself. Supposedly Sam was despised by the players, so much so that its rumored that they even locked him out the locker room at halftime of one of the games. As far as his coaching prowess, The man started Jeff McInnis at PG for the majority of the season… The discussion on Sam can end right there. Larry Brown has his …
