Report Cards!

Now that the Bobcats are officially in the offseason, it’s time to grade how they did. Over the next month, I’ll be giving every player and select non-players their grades for the season. But I’ll start with a general report card for the entire team. Enjoy!

BigCat’s First EVER Playoff Post

I’m happy to be pissed this morning. If I weren’t pissed, we’d be sitting at home watching the playoffs and not participating. That’s what’s nice on the fan level, you can be pissed and still be happy. If we had been here before, I’d be pissed and not happy.  Happy/Pissed, who cares, the Bobcats are down a game but it’s still the PLAYOFFS.
How do you give up a career night to Jameer Nelson? First playoff game or not, that guy had free reign in the first …

Trader Mike

In baseball, there’s a man named Jack McKeon. He’s known in baseball circles as “Trader Jack.” He’s a retired manager who is the oldest manager to win a World Series. But what does all this have to do with the Bobcats? Well, Trader Jack is very similar to Michael Jordan.

Bobcats clinch first playoff spot with win over Hornets (104-103)

Charlotte fans are getting a quick peek at what could be the roller coaster ride the play-offs will be for their Bobcats. For the second game in a row, the ‘Cats let a huge margin evaporate (26 points tonight) and had a tough fight on their hands to win the game. Tonight saw the Bobcats go through a 35 point swing, 26 points up to 9 points down, and have to fight back to get a win against a determined Hornets team. There were lots of first for the Bobcats …

‘Cats dunk Wizards 107-96, move Magic Number to 7

Just a few days ago, we saw the Charlotte Bobcats play horrible basketball in Washington, D.C. but somehow come out with an overtime win over the Wizards, 95-86. There would be no overtime tonight, as the ‘Cats survived multiple attempts at a comeback by the Washington Wizards to win 107-96. The Bobcats earned their franchise-record 38th win, and are for the first time ever four games over .500%. The Wizards, however, set their own franchise record with their 14th consecutive loss. While it wasn’t pretty, it’s a win, and that means the magic number to make the playoffs is down to 7.

Wallace and the ‘Cats spoil Steph Curry’s return home, 101-90

If you had any question how well liked young Stephen Curry is in the Queen City, then that was certainly answered tonight. Returning home to Charlotte as a Golden State Warrior, the rookie received a standing ovation in player introductions and was cheered nearly every time he touched the ball. However, Gerald Wallace, DJ Augustin, and Boris Diaw helped the Charlotte Bobcats ruin his trip home, winning 101-90.

Heir Jordan and Walking in Memphis

What an eventful 24 hours for Bobcats fans. First, Captain Jack and crew won an exciting, hard fought game over a young Memphis Grizzlies squad 93-89. Then, in the early morning hours we found out that UNC and NBA legend and current co-owner Michael Jordan will become the next controlling owner of the Bobcats, succeeding Robert Johnson.

Boooooo?

I don’t get Boos.  Unless I’m the one booing.  I can only remember booing referees and not them personally but the calls.  I could see booing a guy like Big Baby Davis.  Oh I’m sorry, he wants to be called Glen now.  Basically any Celtic deserves a boo anytime they make one of those plays that they’ve been known for.  Ray Allen in a walkoff, Big Fatty in a walk off.  Not because of the shot but because of the reaction.  The “Ohhh yeah, just as I expected.  I am …

Jackson welcomes himself back to Golden State, Bobcats roll 121-110

The last time a star Warrior was traded to Charlotte for almost nothing and returned to Oracle Arena in Oakland, he was given a hero’s welcome. This time, the Warrior fans had little love for their former swingman. But in the end, it didn’t matter. Captain Jack came to play, as did his First Mate and the rest of his Crew.

Bobcats run over Spurs, 92-76, Suns tonight

Last night, your Charlotte Bobcats took on the San Antonio Spurs, who coming into this game were 5-0 in Charlotte and 10-1 all time against the ‘Cats. But, by the end of the night, that would change.

THAT! Is How It’s Done!

Bobcats are a legit playoff contender.  It’s not secret.  Gerald Wallace is a legit All-Star calliber player.  Whether the coaches and players realize it remains to be seen.  He was not on form last night against the Houston Rockets.  The Rockets come in with a team of “Huh?  Who?  Wow, He looks exactly like a Q-Tip!” players but they are winning, in the West no less!
The ‘Cats played from behind most of the evening with Gerald Wallace, cold.  I mean COLD like the weather for the last 3 weeks cold. …

Stephen Jackson leads all scorers with 43 as the Bobcats win an exciting game over the Rockets 102-94.

The Rockets felt good for three quarters of the game until the Bobcats imposed their defensive will on the Rockets. Houston made it a close game (89-88) with a little over three minutes left in the game but Stephen Jackson maintained his torrid offense against the Rockets, scoring 16 of his 43 points in the fourth quarter. Jackson put on a scoring exhibition the Rockets would have like to missed! The Bobcats prevailed with their trade mark defense and an offensive show we’ve all waited for from Jackson. …

Bobcats beat the Heat for a long awaited road win

The Bobcats beat the Heat Saturday afternoon behind 35 points and 8 rebounds from Stephen Jackson. This was the first road win for the Cats since November 28 when they got a win against the gun toting Wizards. This afternoon they have a chance to get a 2nd straight road win, If they get it will make one fan in particular very, very happy.
There were several positives to take from this game:

DJ Augustin shot the ball very well and played with a lot of confidence
Derrick Brown had a strong 2nd …
