Name some of the biggest names to play in the NBA since Jordan retired. From playing I mean. We here in Charlotte know he still works, and how. Kobe, Lebron, Duncan, AI, Steve Nash, KG, Dirk…who would you want on the Bobcats? Nah, I’m good. Well except for Kobe, Lebron and maybe…no not Dirk. I’m not going to say washed up but those guys aren’t who they used to be and for them to come in, it’d turn your team upside down. Not to mention the cost, real money.
It’s not like Shaq going to Phoenix, didn’t work by the way. Or Cleveland for that matter, remains to be seen… The Bobcats are looking to get into the playoffs, not the finals. There are no all-stars let alone multi-time all-stars/superstars. It’s not exactly like 3 years with Larry and Iverson would leave the Bobcats set for the future.

If there’s one player on that list to go after, it’d be AI. After reading a lot of the talk about Iverson coming to Charlotte, I don’t hate the idea. But I feel like we’d probably want to trade one of the other guards if we do sign him.
Iverson’s not a PG, so I wouldn’t touch Felton or D.J. Henderson is young and cheap (I see him potentially playing a Courtney Lee type role for Charlotte). That leaves Bell, seeing as how we’d have to give Iverson starter’s minutes to justify signing him. We lose a little on defense but gain a 20 ppg scorer who will finally bring some excitement to the team. I wonder what our trade options would be for Bell. A backup PF or combo forward would be nice.
It’s a risk for sure, and I wouldn’t be terribly upset if Iverson didn’t play in Charlotte next season. But trading Bell is the only way I see this working.
I can do without A.I. on the Bobcat’s roster. At this point in his career he is just a shell of the force that he was back in his best days.
Now if we could somehow find a way to get Charlie Villanueva then I’d be thrilled
Looks like we’re a little late on the Charlie V train
