With the 12th pick in the ‘09 NBA Draft the Bobcats select…

From Madison Square Garden, in New York City, David Stern told us the newest Bobcat will be Duke SG Gerald Henderson at 8:45 p.m.

Gerald is the son of former NBA player Gerald Henderson Sr., and played for legendarily rat-faced (oops, hall-of-fame) Coach Mike Krzyzewski at Duke University. He said during draft workouts he wanted to be a Bobcat despite the Tar Heel bias in the front office and fan base, and is a classy, intelligent player off the court who is an incredibly hard worker and defensive menace on court who can get it done offensively as well, much like a younger Raja Bell. Gerald shores up a weak 2 guard spot that didn't have an official backup last season after the Shannon Brown trade, and was a bald spot during injuries to Raja Bell.

Here's a video for you guys to get used to the new backup shooting guard...backup for now, anyway.

Super G
